Pseudo-Crisis No. 2 - Deficit Spending

Second in a Series on Pseudo and Real Crises

Deficit spending is seen as a crisis by Democrats ONLY when they are not in power. Have you noticed that? This is just one of their many feeble ploys to try to make President Bush look bad.

In reality, the federal deficit is about in line with past deficits when compared with the federal Gross Domestic Product. Also, you hear the Democrats bleat about the magnificent budget surplus that existed under President Clinton. The fact is, the surpluses they all recall with such pride never actually existed: They were just budget PROJECTIONS of the time and certainly did not anticipate us having to fight a war on terrorism following the September 11, 2001, attacks on our country.
