Two items appearing on same day in same news service: amazing!

Cybernet News Service, July 15, 2005:

The first CNSNews.com article states that

New DLC Chairman Promises 'Positive Agenda'

Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack Friday said he will pursue a "positive agenda" as the new chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council, which seeks "to modernize the progressive tradition in American politics for the 21st century."

"I'm proud and delighted to assume this new role," Vilsack said. "In my new capacity, I look forward to advancing reforms that will keep our country safe, give every American a chance to get ahead and reconnect our party with heartland values.

"There is nothing wrong with our country or our party that a positive agenda won't fix," he added. "I want all Americans who believe in security, opportunity and responsibility to feel they have a home in the DLC and the Democratic Party."

The second article in CNSNews.com appearing the same day states:

Ex-Clinton AideCharges 'Republicans Want to Kill Us'

Young liberals this week flocked to the nation's capital to hear, among other things, liberal television pundit and Democrat political strategist Paul Begala accuse Republicans of wanting to kill him and his children to preserve tax cuts for the rich.

Begala was featured at the first-ever Campus Progress National Student Conference, which was designed to provide campus liberals with the tools necessary to fight the conservative movement. The event also drew former President Bill Clinton, for whom Begala once worked as an advisor.
Among the "non-positive" things Begala said were

Republicans had "done a p***-poor job of defending the U.S"

"Republicans want to kill us."

Republicans have created a
"bulls*** national defense, and we should say that."

The GOP
"ain't had a new idea since they opposed Social Security, and guess what, they still do."

And finally, "
they (the GOP) are utterly and completely brain-dead," echoing comments earlier this year by Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who accused Republicans of being "brain dead."

Another insignificant speaker at the conference added that during the beginning of World War II, "Republicans
didn't have any problem with Hitler."(The latter speaker didn't point out that two Americans who did NOT have a problem with Hitler was Sen. Teddy Kennedy's father and oldest brother, Joe Kennedy Sr. and Joe Kennedy Jr.).

Note to DLC Chairman Vilsack. Better do two things fast:

1) Get a memo out to these crazies. and
2) Come up with something positive for the pitiful dems to say.

We've been watching and listening closely. So far no positive agenda ideas have trickled out. Just negative stuff requiring use of asterisks..
